In light of the active COVID pandemic, the Brookside Business Association has canceled our annual Halloween celebration, Trick or Treat Street, which was to have been held Saturday, October 31st. Instead we’ve extended our Brookside Scavenger Hunt through Sunday, November 1st. Grab some costumes or come as you are – either way the kids are sure to enjoy the Scavenger Hunt in Brookside! Download and print the scavenger map here, or pick one up in Brookside at Cosentino’s Market. Follow the map to find the letters in windows, on doors, or on walls near each location on the map. Kids who visit all 8 locations in the Brookside shops and unscramble the secret word will receive a free little pumpkin thanks to a generous donation from Cosentino’s Market, and a stickers to decorate the pumpkin from the Brookside CID (while supplied last). Just take your completed map to the service desk at Cosentino’s Market 14 W 62 Terrace for your reward.
As a bonus, families that post a photo with their child participating in the scavenger hunt to Facebook or Instagram, tag @BrooksideKansasCity, and include #BrooksideHarvestHunt will be entered to win some great prizes – a whole bag of candy, $25 brookside gift card, and some Brookside SWAG.
The Brookside Shops have been a favorite location for generations of kids for the last 100 years. From favorite shops like Brookside Toy and Science, Foo’s, Brookside Party Warehouse and more, to favorite events like the St. Patrick’s Day Warm-Up Parade and Trick-or-Treat Street, so many kids love and consider the Brookside shops part of their community. Since we aren’t hosting Trick or Treat Street on Halloween due to COVID, the Brookside Scavenger Hunt is just a small way of thanking the many kids that consider the Brookside shops part of their community. We look forward to a great Halloween celebration next year.
